FEBRUARY NEWS

Next Meeting: North Branch Township will have the Annual Board of Audit Meeting to review the 2023 financials of said township on March 7th, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Branch Township Hall located at 29113 Notre Dame St. Ne. North Branch, MN 55056, prior to the regular meeting. North Branch Township's regular meeting is scheduled for the first Thursday of each month.  The next regular meeting is Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at 7 p.m.

Township Election: North Branch Township Elections will be held Tuesday, March 12th, 2024. The voting polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to elect 1 supervisor for a 3 year term and consider a five member board. Township elections are held on the second Tuesday in March across the state of Minnesota. In case of inclement weather the meeting and election will be postponed until the 3rd Tuesday in March.

JANUARY NEWS

Next Meeting: North Branch Township's regular meeting is scheduled for the first Thursday of each month.  The next regular meeting is Thursday, February 1st, 2024 at 7 p.m.

The North Branch Township Board would like to say Thank You! to the North Branch Fire Department Relief Association for the donation of $1,00.00.  The donations are used to fund the Emergency Address Signs for new homes within the township.  It was the North Branch Fire Relief's generous donation of $5,000.00 in April of 2015 that started the funding process for North Branch Township to start putting up the "Blue and White Address Signs" for our residents.  We have received many thanks from our residents and first responders telling the board that these signs make it much easier to find the home they’re looking for in the time of an emergency. Thank You again North Branch Fire Department Relief Association!

Established in 1869, the North Branch Township in Isanti County, Minnesota occupies 36 square miles with 49.458 miles of road, 1.5 miles of which are asphalt. We have approximately 1,737 residents spread across 669 homes. North Branch Township is located on Minnesota State Highway 95 between the City of Cambridge and the City of North Branch. Fire Service is provided 90% by the City of North Branch Fire Department & the other 10% by the City of Cambridge Fire Departments. Our Engineering Firm is Bolten & Menk, and the Township Engineer is Joseph Pelawa P.E.

North Branch Township vies with Spencer Brook Township for having the earliest settlement in the county. By the time the county was established in 1857, there were already a number of settlers. Among them were the Owens, the Huntleys, and the Henricks. 

The township is named for the north branch of the Sunrise River that flows through it. It was officially organized as a township in 1869. When it became a township, a number of Germans settled in the southern part of the township, in the Weber community. The northern part of the Spring Lake community was settled mostly by Swedish immigrants.

BRUSH REMOVAL NOTICE
North Branch Township will be performing brush and tree removal within the road right away. The right way consists of 66', 33' each way of the centerline of the road.
Once the trees and brush are removed each year, it will be followed up with a herbicide treatment to prevent future re-growth.
